Full house on Tuesday
We continue to appreciate all of you that attend Fashion Sewing Club. All three of them have loyal followers and new attendees. It’s so energizing!
I wanted to pass on a link to an organization that Treadle worked with for Grand Old Days-Sew Good Goods. They donate handmade high quality items to people that need them-you can cut, sew, donate, have a party. I’m checking to see if they would be interested in any scraps that any of us might have as they use Treadle fabric.
The photos and Club sheets have been posted under Club Sheets and Garment Photos above. Here is a sampling of what you showed us in June- New attendee who likes all things vintageIncluding a period dressed doll, all the way down to undergarments! April was a good sewing month for some-lots to see. Fashion Sewing Club photos and sewing notes can be found by clicking here or on Club Sheets/Garment Photos above.
Below is Karen’s ensemble-the tunic is ready-to-wear by Gudrun Sjoden. I’ve watched her clothing for some time. It’s full of color and pattern but not something I’d expect to see on the street here in the metro area. One of the dilemmas on my mind was to reinterpret the look into something I could wear. Karen has solved the problem by choosing just one piece and matching it with a solid pant and sweater. Now which piece will I order???

Life was unusually full for us as March began. Unfortunately some things had to make room for others. We apologize for having to cancel Thursday’s Fashion Sewing Club. Saturday and Tuesday meetings were wonderful and great therapy for Debbie and me. Some of the highlights are featured below.
Hancock Fabrics at Southtown is still open, markdowns were at 40% when I was last at the store-the markdowns seem to vary from store to store. Rumor has it that the stores will close by May but that isn’t official. First Sewing will be moving east in the same mall and our current plan is to teach in their new space. There may be a week or two in limbo but we will keep you posted.
Treadle classes continue as usual. Michelle is probably home from her Vegas buying trip and great new fabric has already been coming in. Summer kids’ classes have been posted on their website.

Despite the cold weather many of you attended Club meetings and we were all well rewarded. Inspirational sewing and seeing friends (some of whom we hadn’t seen for many months and some new) made the cold trip worthwhile.

Tuesday, Feb. 9, Treadle Yard Goods, 10:30 pm

Just a bit behind with all this beautiful summer weather to be out in but here are some of the June show and tell creations for your viewing pleasure. My daughter, Hilary, was the guest model and photographer. We have her to thank for the collage idea which we will repeat-now that we’ve remembered it!
Yes, there were 52 people attending-thanks to all for coming!! Photos and Club Sheets are posted (see bar above). Here’s the show and tell! Lots of people eager to sew for warmer weather-whenever it decides to come around…

I don’t know that we’ve seen the sun since Easter Sunday (and then not for very long) but here are a few photos that may bring a little sunshine into your day. Full disclosure: they are my grandkids so I am biased :}

Even though I didn’t get anything sewn for them, I knew you’d all want to see how they’ve grown: Ben-2 yrs. 5 mos. Drew, 2 yrs. 5 mos.
And finally for some of what I’m missing (sewing for girls), Annette sent me a photo of her Easter sewing. Thanks! Swiss sateen, french lace, and pearl buttons
Suffice it to say, even if I have granddaughters, there may only be one dress of that caliber to share.
